Pine resin

Pine resin has been used as a form of glue for thousands of years, mainly by people indigenous to mountainous areas.

In ancient times it was extracted by putting pine logs over a fire or to collect it from the bottom of the tree where usually soldified sticky resin chunks can be found.

The more modern way of haresting is to make a "wound" in the tree by cutting away the bark with an axe and then using a sort of guiding mechanism which cosists of a curved metal plate which guides the resin into a bucket.

This video explains it all.

We won't need metal plates, smooth wooden ones will do to funnel it in.

Depends, if you find a tree with lots of resin, collect it, but it isn't mandatory.

Each Settlement will have one by law, you'll use the communal storehouse.
